My Views on Euthanasia

I think that Enuthanaisa is a legitimate way to ending someones life. For example The Father in Italy Accused of Murder I think that he did the right thing to go through Euthanaisa with his daughter mainly because that was his daughter's wish; she would rather die. Just because I think that Euthaniasa is a practial way to end a life that doesn't mean that I don't think that it is a big deal. I believe that Euthanasia is a serious and extreme and difficult thing to consider that it should be thought over carefully. However even though I do agree with euthanasia I have exceptions. To give another example the man who lost his job and killed his family and called it Euthanasia. I don't think that is Euthanasia I think that is murder! I think that the man had good reasons to back up his actions and he and his family must have been dealing with a great deal of turmoil but death was an obscene solution it's not like he was terminally ill. He lost his job. I'm not saying that he could have found a new job and everthing would have been fine and dandy. It was inevitable that his family was going to struggle but there hardships could have been over come. As has been noted I believe that Euthanasia is an ethcial way to end a life but should be though over very carefully.

"Mercy" Killing?

1) Reflecting on Of Mice and Men

a) Explain George's perspective for what he did to Lennie.
I think that the reason that George did what he did to Lennie is because he probably felt that there was no other way to save his friend. If George did help his friend and run away again then Lennie probably would have got himself into trouble again. However if George would have got Lennie and locked him up because he needs the help it probably wouldn't have done any good.

b) Do you think that was the best thing to do for Lennie?
I think that what happened to Lennie was for the best. However I don't think that it was best for Lennie. That's mainly because while reading the story Of Mice and Men I actually grown to like Lennie and that he just has a different way of looking at things than others. Since Lennie did die I think that it was better George did it rather than Curley. I also think that it was good that George told him his favorite story right before he killed him.

2) Father in Italy accused of Murder.

a) "Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish." Put in other words the woman's father had his daughter's feeding tubes because that was what she wanted. I think that is why the father did what he did. I don't think that is what he wanted for her personally I mean that's his daughter. However as a father I also believe that he should also respect his daughter's wishes.

b) "The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially." To clarify this quote the daughter had said that she would rather die than be kept artificially alive. So I do think that was the best thing to do for his daughter.

c) I do agree with what the father did mainly because his daughter was on feeding tubes for 17yrs and she wasn't getting better. More than that I agree with what he did because it was his daughter's wish. I don't even think I could even imagine being in the father's position or the daughter's position in fact. If I was in the father's position I would have probably done the same thing only because it was my daughter's wish and I'm knocking on wood here peoples.

3) Man Kills Family after Losing Job.

a) Imagining what that man must have felt as a father, a husband, and just as a person as he went through the process of losing his job. All of the long sleepless nights; the feeling of failure as a father and a husband; the longing of wanting to provide everything his family wanted; the heavy stack of piling bills sitting on the counter of your home and knowing you can't pay for it; the exhaustion of looking for another job; look of agony in his wife's eyes when they came to a solution; the feeling that there was no way out of this abyss; the lose of hope; the shaking in his fingers while typing his 2 page suicide letter; the bullets of sweat dripping from his forehead, the gun trembling trying to hold a steady aim when he pulled the trigger on his daughters, his sons, his wife, and himself.

b) Parents can do many things to support their children without it costing them money. Mainly I would say that you should be involved in their lives let them know that you care and that you love them. Too many of times parents get so caught up in trying to provide materialistic things for there children they forget to discipline them and tell them that they love them. Discipline meaning you tell them "No" and assert your authority as a parent because you love them and you want what's best for them. When I say tell them that you love them you should do it in action because actions speak louder than words. By doing this I definitely think that a child could succeed in life.
