Forbidden Love Takes a Fall

By: Chantelly Lace

There of, the two young lovers Romeo and Juliet are dead. The events leading to this tragic event all began in Verona Beach. Romeo a 16 year old Montague boy and his friends crashed their adversary's party. An inside source said that is where he first met his love, Juliet a 12 year old Capulet girl. After the lover's meeting many conflicts occurred because the next day Romeo was confronted by Juliet's cousin Tybalt, in the plaza. Some say Tybalt was upset that a Montague crashed a Capulet party and wanted to lead to physical confrontation but Romeo refused and his best friend Mercutio fought for Romeo, and was killed by Tybalt. Mercutio's blood shed left Romeo outraged and he avenged his friend's death by killing Tybalt. It has been documented that Romeo's ill-considered actions led the Prince to banish Romeo from Verona and if he were to return the penalty would be death. On top of that it had been said that Lord Capulet promised Paris (the cousin of the Prince) Juliet, his daughter's hand in marriage. Hearing this Juliet ran away and went to the friar for help. The friar later admitted he gave Juliet a potion to make her fall into a deep sleep and make her appear to be dead and he sent Romeo a note to come and get Juliet when she woke. Juliet was announced dead just two weeks ago. However, there was a fault in the Friar's plan the messenger he sent was not able to find Romeo and when Romeo was told by his cousin Juliet was dead and he really believed it. Romeo was said to be seen mourning in Juliet's grave when he decided the pain was too much and took poison to end his own life. Mourners came back to Juliet's grave one last time and said they found Juliet lying next to Romeo and a dagger in her heart. Thus putting an end to the Star-Crossed Lovers.

Romeo's Profile:
Name: Romeo Montague
Age: 16
About Romeo and his relationships:
Lord Montage was the proud father of Romeo along with Lady Montague the proud mother of her son and they did not know that there Romeo was in love with a Capulet. They both agree that Romeo was a good boy but rebelled at times. Benvolio not only cousin but good friend of Romeo and he was deeply hurt from his cousin's death.

Juliet's Profile:
Name: Juliet Capulet
Age: 12
About Juliet and her relationships:
Lord Capulet was proud father of Juliet along with Lady Capulet the mother of Juliet. They always felt that Juliet was an obedient child but were very disappointed that she would not marry Paris. Nurse the caretaker of Juliet loved Juliet very much.

The Nurse was thoroughly involved in this whole juncture. She was interviewed and told everything! "It is not my fault I say! I knew this infamous Romeo was trouble with all the sneaking around. No good was going to come from their relationship. I told her to just unlearn Romeo and settle for Paris and we could just move forth with our lives. No one had to know she had married Romeo we could have disregarded their marriage and put this mess behind us. But instead she deified yet again (weeping) and left me here to clean up all the pieces. I never would have helped her if I knew so many lives would be lost."

Benvolio cousin of Romeo was also interviewed and he claimed to know nothing of this secret marriage. However, he told what he knew. " I was worried about Romeo he was previously heartbroken by his ex-girlfriend Rosalind. After we crashed the Capulet party Romeo just seemed kind of distant. I could see a change in him the last time I saw him which was in the plaza. When Tybalt told him to fight he refused which was no surprise, Romeo was never really concerned about the whole the Montague versus the Capulet household like the rest of us. This whole affair only gives us all the more reason to hate those imbecile Capulets. But my cousin's death changed my outlook on the situation; I've come to the conclusion that there is no need for the battle to continue."

The Consequences
At the trail the whole town showed and the courtyard was split right down the middle; Capulet side and Montague side. It was really noisy the adults were outraged and arguing amongst themselves.
When the Prince finally came to give them their punishment something miraculous happened. All of the teenagers crossed over to the other side of the courtyard. The Prince was baffled and asked "Why do you young ones cross sides? Why do you not quarrel and bite your thumb at each other?" A smaller boy, Balthasar answered out, " We have learned our lesson and we no longer wish to quarrel with each other." The courtyard was silent. When the unthinkable happened Lord Montague and Lord Capulet met in the middle of the courtyard and shook hands! The simple gesture was enough for the Prince, " I can see you have found a common ground. So I have decided to pardon this trail and we will live in peace from now on."

My Views on Euthanasia

I think that Enuthanaisa is a legitimate way to ending someones life. For example The Father in Italy Accused of Murder I think that he did the right thing to go through Euthanaisa with his daughter mainly because that was his daughter's wish; she would rather die. Just because I think that Euthaniasa is a practial way to end a life that doesn't mean that I don't think that it is a big deal. I believe that Euthanasia is a serious and extreme and difficult thing to consider that it should be thought over carefully. However even though I do agree with euthanasia I have exceptions. To give another example the man who lost his job and killed his family and called it Euthanasia. I don't think that is Euthanasia I think that is murder! I think that the man had good reasons to back up his actions and he and his family must have been dealing with a great deal of turmoil but death was an obscene solution it's not like he was terminally ill. He lost his job. I'm not saying that he could have found a new job and everthing would have been fine and dandy. It was inevitable that his family was going to struggle but there hardships could have been over come. As has been noted I believe that Euthanasia is an ethcial way to end a life but should be though over very carefully.

"Mercy" Killing?

1) Reflecting on Of Mice and Men

a) Explain George's perspective for what he did to Lennie.
I think that the reason that George did what he did to Lennie is because he probably felt that there was no other way to save his friend. If George did help his friend and run away again then Lennie probably would have got himself into trouble again. However if George would have got Lennie and locked him up because he needs the help it probably wouldn't have done any good.

b) Do you think that was the best thing to do for Lennie?
I think that what happened to Lennie was for the best. However I don't think that it was best for Lennie. That's mainly because while reading the story Of Mice and Men I actually grown to like Lennie and that he just has a different way of looking at things than others. Since Lennie did die I think that it was better George did it rather than Curley. I also think that it was good that George told him his favorite story right before he killed him.

2) Father in Italy accused of Murder.

a) "Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish." Put in other words the woman's father had his daughter's feeding tubes because that was what she wanted. I think that is why the father did what he did. I don't think that is what he wanted for her personally I mean that's his daughter. However as a father I also believe that he should also respect his daughter's wishes.

b) "The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially." To clarify this quote the daughter had said that she would rather die than be kept artificially alive. So I do think that was the best thing to do for his daughter.

c) I do agree with what the father did mainly because his daughter was on feeding tubes for 17yrs and she wasn't getting better. More than that I agree with what he did because it was his daughter's wish. I don't even think I could even imagine being in the father's position or the daughter's position in fact. If I was in the father's position I would have probably done the same thing only because it was my daughter's wish and I'm knocking on wood here peoples.

3) Man Kills Family after Losing Job.

a) Imagining what that man must have felt as a father, a husband, and just as a person as he went through the process of losing his job. All of the long sleepless nights; the feeling of failure as a father and a husband; the longing of wanting to provide everything his family wanted; the heavy stack of piling bills sitting on the counter of your home and knowing you can't pay for it; the exhaustion of looking for another job; look of agony in his wife's eyes when they came to a solution; the feeling that there was no way out of this abyss; the lose of hope; the shaking in his fingers while typing his 2 page suicide letter; the bullets of sweat dripping from his forehead, the gun trembling trying to hold a steady aim when he pulled the trigger on his daughters, his sons, his wife, and himself.

b) Parents can do many things to support their children without it costing them money. Mainly I would say that you should be involved in their lives let them know that you care and that you love them. Too many of times parents get so caught up in trying to provide materialistic things for there children they forget to discipline them and tell them that they love them. Discipline meaning you tell them "No" and assert your authority as a parent because you love them and you want what's best for them. When I say tell them that you love them you should do it in action because actions speak louder than words. By doing this I definitely think that a child could succeed in life.

Mean Girls Trouble in Detention based on Lord of the Flies

1a) Lindsey Lohan as Ralph

1b) I would cast Lindsey Lohan as Ralph because of her role in Mean Girls; she played Cady Heron. The reason I would cast her as Ralph is because of the part when she performed to the song Jingle Bell Rocks I think that showed leadership quality just like Ralph. Another reason I would cast Lohan as Ralph is because of her role in Parent Trap when she was younger she played the role of a devious twin very well. She also played in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and I thought that role reminded me of Ralph because when she played the role of Lola Cepp she was not afraid to be different and she wanted to get away from where she was just like Ralph wanted to be rescued from the island.

2a) Rachel McAdams as Jack

2b) I would definitely cast Rachel McAdams as Jack in my movie because of her awesome role as Regina George in Mean Girls of course. Just like Jack she was determined to have everyone be under her. While she was the most powerful girl in school just like Jack wanted to be chief so badly. She also played a very manipulative role which I think would be very good for Jack. Lastly I think she should play the role of Jack because she is a good leader but just not a very nice leader like Ralph.

3a) Daniel Franzese as Piggy

3b) The reason I would cast Daniel Franzese as Piggy is mainly because of the role he did as Damian in the movie Mean Girls. I thought that he was very humorous in that role and like Piggy people kind of ignored him; he was a tag along sort of. People picked on him, no one took him seriously, and he was kinda chunky so that's a plus. I thought these were all good qualities for playing the role of Piggy in my movie.
4a) Lizzy Caplan as Simon

4b) The reason I would cast Lizzy Caplan as Simon is because in the movie Mean Girls she played the role of Janis very well. She was like the typical goth outcast and she would come up with clever ideas. She was kind of doing her own little thing in the movie not belonging to any "lunch table". I think that she would play a great Simon for those reasons.

5a) Lacey Chabert as Roger
5b) I think that Lacey Chabert would play a great Roger. I think this because in the movie Mean Girls she played Gretchen Wieners. In the movie her role was to be the sidekick of Regina George. I also picked her because she would do so many things to please Regina. That reminded me of Roger because he as well would do anything to please Jack because Roger was like Jack's right hand man in the story.

6) In my new version of the Lord of the Flies I would use the "Burn Book" as my "Beastie" because all of the girls in the movie Mean Girls were afraid to say they wrote the "Burn Book". Plus the whole Burn Book as the "Beastie" goes along with my whole Mean Girls theme mixed with Lord of the Flies.

7a) The setting of my remake of Lord of the Flies would be in a classroom.
7b) I would also make a few changes to my story. The first thing I would change is I would keep the names they had on the movie Mean Girls. Second thing I would change is that I would have them trapped in detention with the "Beastie" (Burn Book) and they were trapped there over night. Until someone confessed they wrote the Burn Book. The last thing I would change is like the movie Mean Girls I would make the story funny.
8) Instead of my movie being Lord of the Flies I would definitely change the title of my movie; Considering my whole Mean Girls theme the title of my movie would be Mean Girls Trouble in Detention.
